1. Spring Lawn Treatment (March to May)
A high nitrogen slow release granule - feeding your lawn for up to 2.5 months. We also apply a selective weed killer.
2. Summer Lawn Treatment (June to August)
Again a high nitrogen feed for leaf stimulation, further selective weed killers applied.
3. Autumn Lawn Treatment (September to October)
Here the emphasis is on root stimulation - phosphorous and potash being the main ingredients. Some nitrogen is also included to maintain a healthy sward - selective weed killer will also be applied.
4. Winter Lawn Treatment (November to March)
The winter treatment is dedicated to controlling moss, liquid moss killers are applied via knapsack.
5. Scarification
(carried out at different times depending on lawn conditions)
This process concentrates on removing dead matter from your lawn, this is known as thatch. Scarification is a very important part of the lawn treatment programme for most lawns. Allowing thatch to build up in a lawn causes many problems not only can the lawn become a thick uncuttable matt but it becomes a perfect breeding ground for lawn pests and diseases. A secondary benefit of scarifying is that a great deal of moss can be removed.
6. Aeration
We offer solid or hollow tine aeration.
Solid tine aeration is usually sufficient to aerate most domestic lawns, 5/6 inch spikes are mechanically driven into the lawn. Aeration stimulates strong root growth and relieves compaction.
Hollow tine aeration is the removal of cores/plugs from the lawn, this process can then be followed by a top dressing. Most domestic lawns do not require this level of aeration, but we will be most happy to discuss this with you further when surveying your lawn.
